It belongs to the class of fluorobenzenes and thiazoles. The molecule has been studied as an experimental agent and is not approved for clinical use in any country. Its primary mechanism of action is as an inhibitor of 11-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1 (11β-HSD type 1), an enzyme involved in glucocorticoid metabolism.
